FRL - Soft Start & Shut-off Valves
QUBE Series Soft Start Valves are designed to gently move cylinders, actuators and other pneumatic devices into their starting positions under low pressure to eliminate the shock caused by filling a pneumatic system at full pressure. This will prolong the life of pneumatic equipment and increase the level of safety for machine operators.
 
QUBE Series Solenoid Shut Off Valves are designed to shut off the incoming pressure to a machine/system and rapidly exhaust the downstream pressure, via an electrical signal, so as to act as an emergency stop valve. There are 4 types of valves:
SSA Autopilot Soft Start Valve
When pressure is supplied to the inlet port, gradual filling of the downstream system occurs through the adjustable needle valve. The piston opens the main valve when the downstream side of the valve reached approximately 60% of the supply pressure. The ramp up time to reach the switch over pressure is adjustable via the needle valve in the cover.
 
 The Autopilot soft start valve is not intended to be used as a shut off valve and should always be placed after a shut off valve.
 
SS Solenoid Soft Start Valve
The solenoid soft start valves operate similarly to the auto pilot soft start, but full flow/full pressure is achieved by energizing the solenoid. When pressure is supplied to the inlet port, gradual filling of the downstream system occurs through the adjustable needle valve. The piston opens the main valve when the solenoid is energized. The ramp up time to reach the switch over pressure is adjustable via the needle valve in the cover. The switch over point may occur at any point between 30 psi and the supply pressure. The solenoid may be energized via a downstream sensing device such as a pressure switch (PS-6-1).
 
S Solenoid Shut Off / Quick Exhaust Valve
The solenoid quick exhaust valves are high flow, high exhaust, normally closed, 3 port, 2 position directional control valves. Upon energizing the solenoid, inlet air is applied to the top of the piston. The piston pushed against the spring and opens the main valve providing full flow air to the downstream. When the solenoid is de-energized, the main valve closes allowing downstream air to exhaust rapidly through the bottom plug. The bottom plug is tapped so that exhaust may be piped away or fitted with a muffler.
 
SC Combination Auto Pilot Soft Start / Solenoid Shut Off / Quick Exhaust Valve
These valves combine the features of the auto-pilot soft-start with the enhanced safety features of the solenoid shut-off / quick exhaust valve.

QUBE 75 Series Soft Start and Shut-off Valve

These valves help prolong the life of pneumatic components and increase safety for machine operators. The high exhaust capacity makes for quick depletion of air pressure in pneumatic systems. The series also features high inlet to outlet flow capacity. Standard features are zinc body with brass bottom plug, 1/2" NPT exhaust port, 2 gauge ports of 1/8" NPT, adjustable ramp up time on soft-start, 110 VAC 60Hz standard solenoid which includes manual override and joins directly with other QUBE components. Auto Pilot Soft Start automatically opens to full flow at approximately 60% of supply pressure. Port sizes are 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2". Substitute features are 24 VDC coil and 24 VAC 60Hz coil.
