QIX Modular FRL System

QIX is the Premium FRL System for the Demanding, High-Performance Manufacturer
Addressing the needs of the production-oriented plant more than a decade ago, WATTS FluidAir pioneered a break-through in FRL technology - The QIX Series of high-flow, generously-sized filters, regulators, lubricators, and accessories.

Designed around the parameters of one inch pipe, every QIX component is manufactured with wide open internal porting for maximum efficiency and optimum performance at flow rates up to 250 SCFM.

QIX Means Less Down Time
QIX is short for "Quick Insert eXchange." And quick it is! By means of removeable connector-inserts, any QIX unit easily adapts to a variety of pipe sizes ranging from 1" down to 1/4". Quite simply, each time you change pipe size or units, you change only the insert - not the filter, regulator, or lubricator. Pull two pins with a pair of pliers and your change is made in seconds!

QIX Means Less Inventory Plus Simplified Specification, Ordering and Service
The QIX concept enables you to stock one basic size filter, regulator, and lubricator module along with an assortment of economical insert kits. You save as much as 50% on inventory. Working with fewer part numbers, you simplify engineering specs, lessen purchasing efforts and improve overall service.

QIX Model F20 Air Line Filter

This filter features interchangeable QIX inserts that allow one module to accomodate 5 port sizes: 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" & 1". It provides a two-stage air cleaning action: {1} a finned plate creates high velocity cyclonic motion which causes water and heavier particles of dirt to be hurled out by centrifugal force to the sides of the bowl where they drain off, (2) a non-corrosive 40-micron or optional 5-micron filter element removes up to 99% of residual solids. An easy-open manual drain is standard. Internal float drains or internal piston drains are optional. A one-piece, generous-sized metal bowl with integral sight glass is standard. Sight glass is pre-positioned in-line to protect against accidental damage. A red luminescent sight glass level indicator can be read from either the front or the back. Maximum pressure is 250 PSI; maximum pressure with Auto Drain is 175 PSI. Body is zinc. Air flow ranges from 66 to 185 SCFM depending on port size.

QIX Model F21 Coalescing Filter

This filter features interchangeable QIX inserts that allow one module to accomodate 5 port sizes: 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" & 1". The highly efficient QIX Coalescing Filters remove 99.99% of particles and aerosols as small as 0.3 microns. QIX coalescers operate on a different principle than air filters. The filter element is made up of a network of narrowly spaced fibers which trap smaller contaminants and hold any liquid particles which come in contact with the fibers. An easy-open manual drain is standard. Internal float drains or internal piston drains are optional. A one-piece, 10 ounce metal bowl with integral sight glass is standard. As with the F20 filter, the sight glass is pre-positioned in-line to prevent accidental damage. A F20 filter used as a pre-filter upstream is recommended to extend the life of the coalescing element. Maximum pressure is 250 PSI; maximum pressure with Auto Drain is 175 PSI. Body is zinc. Air flow capacity is 20 SCFM.

QIX Model R20/R21 Regulator

Interchangeable QIX inserts that allow one module to accomodate various pipe sizes. May be removed from the line in seconds with just a pair of pliers. Large, free-floating piston gives greater sensitivity, faster response, and better overall performance. Choose either the T-handle model (R21) or the popular, 3-position adjustment knob (R20). Backing off the regulator to zero PSI enables quick replacement of the piston and spring using only a pair of pliers without shutting down the air supply. Reduced pressure range 0-125 PSI is standard with optional ranges of 0-60 PSI or 0-250 PSI available at no extra cost. Maximum pressure is 300 PSI. Body is zinc. Air flow capacity ranges from 28 SCFM to 260 SCFM depending on pressure drop and port size.

QIX Model L20 Lubricator

Interchangeable QIX inserts that allow one module to accomodate various pipe sizes. May be removed from the line in seconds with just a pair of pliers. The Perma-Fog® lubrication principle, pioneered by WATTS, enables reliable operation over an extremely wide range of air flows from 2 SCFM to 250 SCFM. It incorporates an automatic bypas valve with a high velocity venturi to minimize pressure drop and ensure consistant lubrication at all rated flows. Its precision, oil feed adjustment dial is tamperproof. A full flow sight dome enables a clear view of the oil drip rate. Your lubricator can be filled under pressure rigth to the top. Two large fill ports are standard. A one piece metal bowl has it integral sight glass pre-positioned in-line to avoid accidental damage. A red luminescent level indicator can be read from either the front or back of the unit. Any QIX unit may be removed from the line for service or replacement without breaking any pipe connections. Simply pull two pins with a pair of pliers. Maximum pressure is 250 PSI. Body is zinc.

700 Series High Efficiency Compressed Air Filters

Watts FluidAir, a world leader in the design and manufacture of Filters, Regulators and Lubricators, offers a complere range of high performance in-line filters for contamination removal.

Watts 700 Series in-line filters offers the cost conscious user high flow rates, minimal pressure drop and effective contamination removal.

THE PROBLEM - Pneumatic System Contamination
A cubic foot of atmospheric air contains water vapor, hydrocarbons, and thousands of solid particles. When a compressor intakes this air, the contaminants are submitted to high pressures and temperatures. The air compressor also adds oil, liquids and praticulate matter. Under high pressure and temperature, the contaminants often remain suspended in the lines. But, as the air travels downstream and cools, the moisture and contaminants condense. The result ... compressed air lines flooded with a thick corrosive sludge that will tamage pipework, pressure vessels, tools, valves, and other downstream pneumatic equipment. The contamination will cause premature wear of products, increased pressure drop, decreased product performance, increased product malfunction, and poor surface finishes.
All this leads to added operating expense.

THE ANSWER - Contamination Removal with Watts High Efficiency Filters
Removing the damaging contamination by installing a Watts 700 Series Filtration System. By removing the corrosive contaminants, your hidden costs will decrease while product quality and production efficiency increase.

The Watts 700 Series Filters utilize the highest quality materials available in the manufacture of housings and elements.

Watts 700 Series Filters remove particulate and liquid contamination from compressed air via four methods: Gravitational Settling, Impact, Interception, and Diffusion.

Model F701/F702 High Efficiency Compressed Air Filters

The 700 Series Filter is comprised of two models: Model F701 which is a coalescing filter with either .3 micron or .7 micron elements, and Model F702 which is a particulate filter with either a .9 micron element or an adsorber element. Both models are available with port sizes from ¼" to 2½" NPT. Model F702 with particulate element has flow rates from 25 to 1000 CFM. Model F701 with a .3 micron element has flow rates from 15 to 750 CFM.

A Model F701 coalescing filter should always be preceeded by a Model F702 particulate filter to extend the life of the coalescing element. A differential pressure pop-up indicator is standard on F701 filters from ¼" to 1". On F701 filters from 1¼" thru 2½" NPT, a differential pressure gauge is standard. Maximum pressure is 250 psig for zinc bowls, and 300 psig for aluminum or steel bowls. Options include mounting brackets, internal auto drain, external auto drains, electric drains, and remote differential pressure gauge.
