The Process Housing Series "S"In addition to their size, the fact that micro-organisms as "living organisms" are capable of multiplying very rapidly given the right conditions makes special demands on the sterile filter element as well as the sterile filter housing. Therefore, the new ZANDER filter housing range is designed for the most critical applications. 304 (optional 316L high-quality stainless steel, highly-polished surfaces and the elimination of edges and corners offer a high degree of biological safety when sterilizing air and other compressed gases. Special attention has been paid to the location of the element. Unlike traditional plug-in adapters with a single internal 'O' ring or two external 'O' rings, a special "Click-Lock" (Code 7) system was developed for the new series S housings. Two external 'O' rings together with a bayonet insure that the element is safely installed. Thus the risk of bypass and bacteria formation around the 'O' ring is greatly minimized. The design of the new housing series guides the air/gas flow into the filter element without any turbulence. The result is minimal pressure drop across the filter housing and filter elements and therefore a considerable reduction of operating cost is realized. With the pleated filter series HB and the steam filter Series D and HCD, nearly all requirements for modern, safe and cost-effective filtration can be met. TECHNICAL DATAFeatures

VALIDATE SERIES HB : The Filtration RevolutionDemands for the sterilization of compressed air and gas in the food industry, dairies and breweries are continuously increasing. Complete retention of micro-organisms such as bacteria, viruses and bacteriophages, the largest possible filter area, low differential pressure and high cost effectiveness are standard requirements that a filter must meet. As a solution for this application range, ZANDER specially developed the SERIES HB filter element with an absolute retention rate of 0.01 micron in gas and compressed air. With the help of the pleated depth media with a void volume of 95% (PTFE: 85%; PVDF: 67%) the flow rate may be increased several times while maintaining a low differential pressure. ZANDER's unique pleated SERIES HB has many advantages. The high particle retention capacity increases the life of the SERIES HB filter element while at the same time reducing operating costs. Heat-stabilized polypropylene together with an internal stainless steel core result in high mechanical stability and the hydrophobic PTFE-impregnated filter medium protects against the wetting of the filter medium with condensate or wet steam. SERIES HB filter elements are revolutionizing sterile air filtration. They offer the user the most cost-efficient and reliable filtration. FEATURES
176°F continuous STEAM STERILIZATION (see steam filters) Maximum 287°F at 40 psig for 15 minutes BIOLOGICAL SAFETY All construction materials meet the safety requirements of USP Plastics Class VI and BS 5736 VALIDATION SERIES HB filter elements are validated by the Aerosol Bacteria Challenge Test. Titre reductions of >1012 were established. Documentation available upon request. Series HB Specifications |

VALIDATE SERIES ST-R : Improvement on a StandardThree layers of the microfiber filter medium between Nomex® supporting material prevent the penetration of micro-organisms and insure added filter stability. Because Nomex® is a hydrophobic material, filtration integrity is enhanced even after a steam sterilization cycle. Between the stainless steel support cylinders, the filter layer is secured with epoxy resin to the stainless steel end caps. Utilizing epoxy potting compound in lieu of silicone results in a SERIES ST-R filter element of exceptional stability, highest possible efficiency and longer service life for total safety under critical process conditions. SERIES ST-R filter elements are particularly suited to high temperature applications. ST-R elements meet the requirements for sterile compressed air/gas and "Bio-Burden Reduction" in dairies, breweries and other food industries, as well as particle-free systems in high-tech manufacturing. Filter elements of the ST-R SERIES are available for existing ZANDER filter housings and also as replacement filter elements for housings produced by other manufacturers. FEATURES
392°F intermittently 338°F continuously STEAM STERILIZATION Can be sterilized in-place with purified, saturated steam up to 100 times at 250°F at 16 psig for 30 minutes. Series ST-R Specifications |

Steam Filters |

SERIES D and DS : Clean SteamIn many areas of the food and pharmaceutical industries, vessels, piping and filter systems are sterilized by steam. If not properly filtered, the steam required to sterilize these systems may contain a considerable amount of rust, particulate or other pipe-scale. The resulting contaminated steam may cause serious faults in the system. If the steam is contaminated, the life of valves, filters and other ancillary equipment is shortened. ZANDER SERIES D and DS steam filters prevent the systems from being contaminated and thus increase the lives of adjoining equipment. ZANDER SERIES D and DS steam filters consist of porously sintered stainless steel that ensures the effective retention of particles. The filter elements show excellent chemical resistance and mechanical stability due to their special design. Using ZANDER SERIES D and DS steam filter can considerably reduce the post-filtration costs of your system. TECHNICAL DATAFeatures

SERIES HCD : State of the Art Culinary Steam FiltersZANDER is proud to introduce the new Series HCD High-Capacity Culinary Steam Filters. The new range features a pleated Stainless Steel mesh element allowing higher flows, excellent particle retention and longer service life at the lowest ΔP. The new HCD element also features the double "O" ring sealed Code 7 "Click-Lock" connection for positive location of the filter element and the end caps are welded making the HCD ideal for continuous duty in demanding high temperature applications. Although the 3-A standard only calls for a 2 micron filter rating at 95% efficiency (Section D2.2), the ZANDER element is capable of trapping particles to 1 micron at 99% efficiency. Superior performance means longer service life for sensitive downstream equipment and products. Another exciting development is the new ZANDER DG housing for large capacity steam systems. The DG19HCD and DG20HCD Flanged Filter housings feature 316L construction and 3" flange and 4" ANSI flange connections, respectively. Most importantly, the opening at the inlet of the filter element is the same diameter as the inlet/outlet of the housing giving ZANDER the ability to provide steam flows of over 10,000 lbs./hour through a single element. ZANDER provides the highest performance and the longest service life at an economical initial cost. TECHNICAL DATA

Series G / F MicrofiltersZANDER microfilters help make compressed air a clean fully efficient component of modern factories' energy source. Dust particles are ever present in the atmosphere. They are drawn in and intensified 8 times by the compressor. Additionally, depending on the compressor type, oil in fine aerosol form goes into the compressed air network to cause problems. In a wet compressed system, rust particles, scale and other contaminants lead to:
ZANDER microfilters offer an unique solution to compressed air purification thanks to the modular range of products. The ZANDER range includes filter housings from 1/4" NPT to 12" flanged connections and will operate at pressures from 0 - 5000 psig so that every requirement is met with a standard range of products. These microfilters are economical thanks to the newly developed, environmentally friendly filter media. They are reliable thanks to the compact and easy to service construction. And they are flexible because 6 filter qualities are available.

Series SL Oil Water SeparatorsZANDER provides a family of six oil water separators to separate compressor oil form condensate with high efficiency without the use of external power. The condensate entering the Ecosep SL should be fed by a proven zero air loss condensate drain like the ZANDER Ecodrain series. The processed and clean water can then be safely and legally discharged into the sanitary sewer from the water outlet. Standard Features:
