Vane Pumps

Series PVX-11B30
Series PVX-15B30
Variable Displacement, Pressure Compensated Vane Pumps

General Specifications:

Recommended Fluids
A premium quality hydraulic oil with anti-wear additives is recommended, but not required. consult factory for use with water base fire resistant fluids.
Recommended Operating Viscosities
For petroleum based fluids:
  • Optimum -- 150~250 SUS
  • Continuous Minimum -- 100 SUS
  • Continuous Maximum -- 1000 SUS
Operating Temperature
The operating temperature should be determined by the viscosity characteristics of the fluid used. Because high temperatures degrade seals, reduce the service life of the fluid, and create hazards, fluid temperatures should not exceed 140°F. (60°C) at the case drain.
Filtration
Fluid cleanliness per ISO/DIS 4406 should be 18/15 or better for pressures of 2000 psi (140 bar) or less. For continuous operating pressures of 2000 to 3000 psi (140 to 210 bar), fluid cleanliness should be 17/13 or better.
Mounting Position
Unrestricted, however horizontal mounting is preferred.
Drive
Pump to be connected to prime mover by means of a flexible coupling that is aligned to a maximum of .006" (.152mm) total indicator reading. Alignments greater than .006" (.152mm) indicator reading could cause increased noise and vibration as well as premature shaft seal wear resulting in leakage.
Seals
Buna N or Viton
Ports
SAE O-ring thread ports or SAE 2 bolt flange side port.
Shaft
Straight key or male spline

The pumps are designed to meet requirements of the machine tool, general machinery and other markets where low noise, high performance and competitive pricing are needed.

Air Bleed Valves permit easier pump priming and/or start-up under deadhead conditions. The valve is normally open to permit oil and air (if present) to pass from inlet to outlet and directly back to the reservoir. Pressure in the spool center section is bled via spool clearance to the no-spring end of the spool. As pressure builds up, it overcomes the spring, shifts the spool to close off the inlet port and allows full pump flow to the circuit. Seals are Viton. Minimum flow rate is 8 gpm. Minimum operating pressure is: @ 8 gpm - 500 psi, @ 15 gpm - 350 psi, @ 50 gpm - 200 psi. Maximum operating pressure is 3500 psi. Minimum pressure to hold closed is 150 psi. Typical closing times are: @500 psi - 30 seconds, @ 1500 psi - 10 seconds. Ports are either 1/4" NPTF or #6 SAE.
