| Flo-Matix Company designs and builds electrohydraulic control systems to customers' needs. Customers specify limiting dimensions, flow and pressure needed, and any special requirements, like valves, surge needs, filtration, etc. Flo-Matix uses these specification to determine the equipment layout and programs the PLC to automate the functions required. They build the control system, test it, and deliver it within the time constraints specified. NOTE: Click on any of the thumbnail photos below for full size blowup. |

![]() Hydraulic Press Control & Data Acquisition System- Control panel controls an automated sequence to compress coal using a 300 ton hydraulic press. System is part of a research project called "Coal Pipeline Research Center" at the University of Missouri - Columbia. Control panel contains a SLC500 modular PLC employing discrete and analog I/O. It accepts input from a series of position, velocity and pressure sensors to actuate directional control valves. Data acquisition station is connected to the PLC via a serial link to give the operator the ability to monitor the process and gather sensor data. The data, in turn, can be used for graphical analysis using Microsoft Windows-based DDE applications. Data acquisition software, Rockwell Software's RSVIEW, is a state of the art man-machine interface used to build a graphical representation of the process being monitored. Rockwell Software's WINLINX software is a set of communications drivers used to link RSVIEW and Microsoft Windows with the PLC. |

![]() Hypneumat Hydraulic Unit Control SystemThe customer supplied Hypneumat SC-9000 Self Contained Hydraulic Unit is a turn-key drilling system, incorporating a hydraulic power unit, directional control valves and limit switches. This control panel was developed to control the drilling sequence via an Allen Bradley Micrologix 1000 PLC. The systems incorporates two-hand-no-tie-down control, a pneumatic circuit to control a clamping cylinder, and two motor starters for powering the Hypnematic system. |

Temperature ControllerWatlow Electric temperature controllers receive signals from thermocouples which indicate the temperature of molten plastic. When a set point temperature is reached, the controllers activate a motor starter and hydraulic valves. An SMC ECC50 controller runs the sequence. |
